How it began

Lakeland Contracting originated from Georgian Bay Cottage Services and Construction Ltd. a small maintenance and services business looking after cottages in the San Souci area of Georgian Bay. After 10 plus years of building and servicing Georgian Bay cottages only, the company was moved on to mainland and the name was consolidated into "Lakeland Contracting" a little less of a mouthful. Work continued on the islands as well as growing on the mainland. Since then the company's goal has been to pick up more skills, knowledge and equipment to provide our customers with as many services as possible in house. That way we can make sure that our customers receive a high quality product.

The People Behind Lakeland Contracting

The Owners

Dave Garside

Dave is co-owner and founder of Lakeland Contracting. His 35 plus years in the industry have provided him with a vast knowledge relating to residential construction.

Some of his accomplishments include: licensed gas fitter as well as having taught the gas fitters course, successful completion of the Designer Legal Building Code Course, licensed scuba diver and volunteer firefighter.

Dave currently oversees the construction, renovations, and roofing services we provide. Looking after the sales, quoting, and project management for these services.

You will also still find Dave on the job site as he quite enjoys doing the hands on work.

Mike is co-owner of Lakeland Contracting and has been working with the business for over 15 years.

He started full time after finishing school, and began to immediately expand our expertise and services, leading a new segment to the business, providing clients with a multitude of low maintenance exterior finish, services and products.

Mike oversees the siding, soffit/fascia, eavestrough, window and
door services we provide, doing the sales, quoting and project
management, as well as sales of the products.

Mike has an attention to detail which is second to none and he loves to apply it to our projects. His talent for visualizing a project before its completed is invaluable.

Madeline Andrews

Some of her past experiences include: Real estate sales, Banking and
Restaurant management. Her knowledge of the financial side of the
business is invaluable.

Madeline looks after the office administration, book keeping, and billing
for the company.

Look for her to greet you when you visit our office and showroom at
238 Oastler Park Dr.

Rick Dadswell

Rick Dadswell has been with Lakeland Contracting for 10 years and before that
at an insulation company. His many years experience in the industry have
provided him with expertise in all areas of residential construction.

Rick's attention to detail and desire to make it right the first time
is a great asset to the company and your project.

Martin Andrews has been with Lakeland Contracting for 6 years and
before that doing everything from septic installations to building
construction and finishing. Martin has a fine eye for finish carpentry
and detail work.

Adam Fowler

Adam Fowler started at Lakeland Contracting 2 years ago in the
carpentry apprentice program. Let's just say he's a quick study.

Adam is quickly learning our processes used to complete a project with
both quality and efficiency. He has been involved in everything from
foundations to finish carpentry.
